Super Troopers Equine Care
For our Super Troopers who are interested in learning about taking care of our equine friends in the stable, NCMT offers the Super Troopers Equine Care program. This program partners children and adults with special needs with a PATH-certified instructor to learn about taking care of horses andthe barn while working on social skills and individual goals. The Super Trooper Therapeutic Instructor team is composed of a diverse group of experienced and dedicated PATH Certified instructors. Each instructor takes time to develop a relationship with all their students. They also work together with students’ families to achieve their goals.
Super Troopers Adaptive Riding
The PATH Certified Super Troopers adaptive riding program provides riding lessons to children and adults with special needs ages 4+. Super Troopers sessions run throughout the year, in addition to our summer programs. PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors teach all adaptive riding lessons and focus on individual global goals. Super Troopers ride in private, semi-private, or group lessons depending on scheduling availability and the rider’s needs.
Golden Troopers
Golden Troopers is a one-hour unmounted therapeutic equine program that provides adults ages 60 and older, with meaningful opportunities for cognitive engagement, gentle physical activity, emotional wellness, and social connection through purposeful interaction with horses.
Led by PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Instructors, each session is thoughtfully adapted to meet the abilities, interests, and goals of every participant. Activities may include horse grooming, leading, observation, sensory experiences, nature-based activities, and structured group interaction—all without horseback riding.
As our population ages, there is increasing recognition that engaging, person-centered programs can play an important role in supporting healthy aging. The horse-human connection offers a unique environment that encourages participants to remain active, engaged, and socially connected while fostering confidence, purpose, and enjoyment.
